sooooo today

Today I worked on the shading and lighting of my face. It was pretty difficult. I kept messing up with the colors and I couldnt find the right colors so that part was a mess, but i think it turned out ok.
Here is the initial contouring:

She kind of looks like Kim Kardashian but i guess thats kind of the point right?
Here is her after she is blended:

I think i did ok for my first time shading! I think I was able to match the colors well.
I also shaded the shoulders so here is that:

Update

So today I was playing around with colors for the skintone and the hair. This is really hard for me because I really couldnt find a good base color for the skin and I dont really know how the shading of the face works.

I also have the idea of trying to make the hair tie dye! So next class im going to try and play around with that and see how that goes.

So today, I finished my line art so I felt like it would be kind of pointless to show a picture because it looks the same but neater.

Update on my painting

So today, I was trying to clean up my line work and I am 99.9% done! I am so excited for this piece because it is a remake of one of my orginal works that i did about 3 years ago and I'm excited to do some new stuff with it color wise as well as make slight design changes!!

Concpets for the Story Book

So today for the first half of class we added Johnathan to our StoryBook team and went over various concepts and we chose one that we all really like. For the second half of class I started painting in photoshop and added a sketch that I drew and I am going to paint over it.

 Also I started to watch some youtube videos on how to paint skin tones and how to shade the face

and skin.

Update of Skills I need to learn to get better in this class

So for this class I feel like I need to improve on my photoshop drawing skills because I think that that'll be what I will be doing the most and I also feel like I should work on my line art. I heard Kaylin and Katie talking about line are while talking about the book and I feel to help with the illustrations I should try to learn how to do some line art!

Update

So for today, we went over the concept for the jellyfish animal friend of our main character Aurelia and also finalized what Aurelia would look like. We are also thinking about how we want the character to find friends and we were thinking about having her join a competition like TSA and make friends there. But the problem we are trying to work through is how did she find out about the TSA competition. Also we are working on our storyboard and are going to bring in lists of ideas to try to the next class! I'm so excited!! I feel like this is going so well and I'm so happy to be working on a storybook!!
