another update

today I was looking at my piece and I thought that the skin that is exposed below her shoulders just looks like dead space so i tried to create some clothes for her. Also I was able to figure out how to color the line art to make it blend a little more so i think i am going to do that.

update!!

So today i was trying to work on the hair and do something that would add depth to her. So, I decided to try and do a tie dye type of hair and have it go to a gradient to white at the ends where the hair drips. I had 2 trials of the tie dye and I chose the first one in the end and smudged it out to get that mixed feel.

Here is the first one before I smudged it out. I liked this one because it mad more color and maybe more depth? It just appealed more to me.

And here it is after i smudged it out! I actually really like it.

sooooo today

Today I worked on the shading and lighting of my face. It was pretty difficult. I kept messing up with the colors and I couldnt find the right colors so that part was a mess, but i think it turned out ok.
Here is the initial contouring:

She kind of looks like Kim Kardashian but i guess thats kind of the point right?
Here is her after she is blended:

I think i did ok for my first time shading! I think I was able to match the colors well.
I also shaded the shoulders so here is that:

Update

So today I was playing around with colors for the skintone and the hair. This is really hard for me because I really couldnt find a good base color for the skin and I dont really know how the shading of the face works.

I also have the idea of trying to make the hair tie dye! So next class im going to try and play around with that and see how that goes.

So today, I finished my line art so I felt like it would be kind of pointless to show a picture because it looks the same but neater.

Update on my painting

So today, I was trying to clean up my line work and I am 99.9% done! I am so excited for this piece because it is a remake of one of my orginal works that i did about 3 years ago and I'm excited to do some new stuff with it color wise as well as make slight design changes!!
